Inter and Newcastle on Alert for Real Madrid Icon Modric

It has been rumored in recent weeks that Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid squad will undergo a transition sooner rather than later, with perhaps the upcoming summer transfer window marking when changes take place. Reportedly, one of Luka Modric or Toni Kroos will leave Los Blancos despite the departure of Casemiro to Manchester United.

As per Spanish outlet El Nacional, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is thinking about potential departure of Modric and Inter are one of the teams interested in his services. The Nerazzurri are keen to bolster their midfield, with Marcelo Brozovic linked to the exit door often. Ex-Milan midfielder Franck Kessie has been linked with a return to Milan, albeit to the black and blue divide, in what is proposed to be a swap deal.

36-year-old Modric is also linked with a return to the Premier League, with surprise top-four contenders Newcastle United vying to compete with Inter.

Real Madrid have one eye on English starlet Jude Bellingham, which risks Modric’s place in the starting eleven – not to mention the presence of French prodigies Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduard Camavinga.

His contract in the Spanish capital expires at the end of the season, and he is currently free to negotiate pre-contract terms with suitors of his choice.
