As Nottingham Forest dumped Arsenal out of the FA Cup with a narrow 1-0 win in the 3rd round of the competition, a new name emerged as a transfer prospect for the Gunners, who headed home with their tails firmly between their legs.
Djed Spence, who is currently on-loan at Nottingham from Middlesbrough, impressed during the Reds’ home outing against Arsenal at City Ground. Mikel Arteta’s side were quick to take notice of the right-back, while Gunners legend Ian Wright termed his performance as ‘unbelievable’ (via The Mirror).
The defender is flourishing at Nottingham and the North London giants aren’t the only club taking note of his on-loan exploits.
According to reports from Calciomercato, Inter and Roma are also keeping close tabs on the 21-year-old full-back. He is supposed to head back to Middlesbrough at the end of the season, having one more year to fulfill in his parent club’s contract. Although Spence possesses a transfermarkt value of just €2.50m, Middlesbrough value him nothing short of the €15-20m mark.
The London-born defender is also being scouted actively by Leeds United and Southampton. The Fulham youth product is known for his versatility – capable of operating both as a right-back or a right winger.
