Inter’s search for Romelu Lukaku’s replacement has taken them scouting all across Italy, with Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata on the top of their transfer wish list as the summer transfer window draws to a close in a few weeks.
According to ESPN journalist Andres Agulla, Inter have made initial contact with the Bergamo club over the services of the Colombian international. The 30-year-old was the focal point of discussions between the representatives of both clubs in a meeting earlier today, as per reports.
Hoy primera reunión en Milán por Duvan Zapata. El Inter lo quiere ya, Atalanta no tiene intención, ni necesidad de venderlo. Será una negociación dura

However, Atalanta will be handicapped upfront without their main striker and would only consider selling the centre-forward if they find an apt replacement before the end of the window on August 31, which seems highly unlikely.
Atalanta ‘have no intention or need to sell’ Zapata to Inter and it will reportedly be a tough negotiation for the Nerazzurri to conclude in their favour.
Zapata’s contract in Bergamo expires in June 2023 and his market value lies in the range of €30m.
