Inter might not make moves after acquiring Josep Martinez from Genoa, as president Giuseppe Marotta and director Piero Ausilio hinted. The dialogue with Denzel Dumfries concerning the renewal has restarted, the latter indicated (via Tuttomercatoweb).
“Both parties wish to reach an agreement. Our idea is to renew and improve his contract, finding a solution that suits everybody. He’s underestimated at times, but he provides a great contribution and has always accepted the choices with great professionalism.”
The exec isn’t sweating Simone Inzaghi’s extension.
“We already met him, and it went well. It’ll come. I don’t know if in a week, 20 days, or a month. It’ll be like last year.”
Ausilio was quizzed about Inter talents Gaetano Oristanio and Valentin Carboni.
“We’re leaning toward partying ways with the former, but we’ll see with which formula. The destination is the least of our problems. Instead, we’ll wait for the end of the Copa America for the Argentine. He has to enjoy it. We’re happy, and we’ll discuss it together afterward. I don’t rule his permanence.”
Marotta dismissed the chatter about Hakan Calhanoglu leaving Inter and downplayed other rumors.
“We didn’t receive any proposal for him. His words strengthened his attachment to the team and made us proud. We already have a competitive squad, and it’ll improve with Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski. Albert Gudmundsson? He’s a good player but our attack is set at the moment. We’re not afraid that Lautaro Martinez will up his requests because we’re talking about serious people.”
