Inter CEO Marotta Addresses Dybala and Inzaghi in Monologue

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta spoke to the press along with manager Simone Inzaghi at the club headquarters at the Viale della Liberazione, shedding light on a number of topics, including the Paulo Dybala saga that has taken Serie A by storm in recent weeks.

The first press conference of the season was marked by Marotta’s opening monologue (via FCInterNews), after which the media and the executives shared a discussion regarding 2022/23.

“Hello everyone, today we are symbolically at the start of a new sporting season. I begin by making a very brief mention of the past one, which I would define as bittersweet. We took home two very important trophies, but the second place leaves us angry – showing that the difference between who wins and who does not win is minimal. It must be a warning for the future.”

He went on to praise coach Inzaghi, who concluded his first season at the helm on a high note despite missing out on the Scudetto.

“His renewal was a critical development and the result of a relationship established last year. It gave great satisfaction to the club and the fans. He has shown that he has the skills to be with us for a long time and to be among the best technicians around.”

Finally, he ended by commenting on the strong links to Dybala.

“He represented and represents an opportunity, but we are in a good place in attack and we have players of great value that the coach will have to manage in the best possible way, although I am very fond of him.”

His words will ring in the ears of the Nerazzurri faithful, who have been expecting an announcement regarding the ex-Juventus man’ transfer but instead witnessed the re-signing of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea on a loan deal.
