Bayern Munich cruised to a 2-0 win over Inter in the final group match of the UEFA Champions League, with both teams qualifying for the Round of 16 even before kick-off. Goals from Benjamin Pavard and Eric Choupo-Moting sealed Die Roten’s place as group winners ahead of the Nerazzurri.
Speaking after the match to Sky Sport (via FCInterNews), coach Simone Inzaghi shrugged off questions regarding any team in particular he would like to face.
“Let’s say we did well in this group. It will be a very difficult draw but all the games in the Champions League are difficult. We enjoy this qualification obtained with great sacrifice and we will think about it in February, now let’s focus on the championship.”
Inter face Juventus next in the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday, and Inzaghi is ready to rotate some of the players he thinks did well at the Allianz Arena.
“They all had a great match. Darmian who had an excellent match from third, Asllani and Gosens as well, Bellanova played well with uncomfortable opponents.”
The Nerazzurri will look to bounce back when they face the Bianconeri in Turin, as both sides side beside each other in 6th and 7th place with 24 and 22 points respectively in the Serie A table.
