Inter Consider Four Strikers Including Liverpool Man

Alongside Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez, Inter need a fourth wheel in attack, as Antonio Conte has shown that he’s unwilling to trust the young Andrea Pinamonti just yet, and a more accomplished striker is expected to arrive at Appiano Gentile during the January transfer market. According to Calciomercato, four options are on the table for Inter, including Liverpool’s Dovick Origi.

Three other names are mentioned in the report, and they are all established Serie A players – Parma’s Gervinho, Udinese’s Kevin Lasagna and finally Cagliari’s Leonardo Pavoletti.

However, the report mainly focuses on Divock Origi who at 25-years-old is considered as a younger option and a much more interesting proposition for Inter who are trying to think outside of the box.

The Liverpool man would also have the opportunity to reunite with his Belgian compatriot Romelu Lukaku, as the pair have been international teammates for several years, and the success that Lukaku is currently enjoying in Italy could encourage Origi to make a similar move from North England towards Milano.

With Liverpool’s attacking department being well-stacked, Reds manager Jurgen Kopp could be willing to let the young Belgian leave, and an initial loan deal could be the best solution.

Our View on the Origi – Inter Link

With Alexis Sanchez and Lautaro Martinez both performing better in the support-striker role, Antonio Conte needs a classical striker who can act as Lukaku’s understudy.

Origi probably had enough from sitting on the bench, but if he has the desire to continue his playing career with another top European club then he’ll have difficulties in finding one that is willing to offer him an immediate starting berth.

Although being Lukaku’s substitute isn’t his dream role, but at least Inter would allow Origi much more playing time than what’s he’s getting at the moment, as his Champions League heroics from 2019 have sadly become a distant memory at Anfield road.
