Inter Considering Reunion with Former Player to Bolster Their Attack

Inter are monitoring Balde Keita as a possible cheap addition if they parted ways with one of their backups. The versatile attacker is coming off a decent season at Sampdoria and has familiarity with the club and the coach.

Keita scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists with the Blucerchiati in the past campaign. However, his wages were too expensive for them to retain him. He previously spent a year at Inter in 2018/2019. He also played under Simone Inzaghi between April 2016 and May 2017. The Senegalese forward thrived in his system, bagging 16 goals and earning a move to Monaco for €30M.

He will leave the Principality once again this summer. A €7/8M offer could be enough to sign him permanently, Tuttosport reports. Inter will consider the addition once they will have sorted the future of Alexis Sanchez and Andrea Pinamonti. Keita would be able to back up both Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.

His agent Federico Pastorello visited with the Nerazzurri Friday. He told Libero and other outlets: “The meeting went well, we took stook of few situations. We primarily discussed Keita. Inter are evaluating his return, but it will hinge on some possible departures. Inzaghi surely knows him very well. Optimistic? We will see.”

The representative also commented on Romelu Lukaku: “The Nerazzurri can be serene on that front. He is on his deserved vacation. There are no issues whatsoever there.” Inter are eyeing Giacomo Raspadori for their front-line, but Sassuolo would like to keep him. They are also pursuing Flamengo’s Rodrigo Muniz.
