Inter Consolidate Their Pole Position for Gianluca Scamacca

Gianluca Scamacca is receiving alluring offers from abroad, but he seems hell-bent on joining Inter. Borussia Dortmund made a rich bid to acquire him to substitute Erling Haaland next summer. While Sassuolo are weighing it, the striker prefers to keep playing in Serie A.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the German club has put €45M on the table. They are willing to let him finish the season on loan to the Neroverdi. The management of the Emilian side considers the proposal very interesting. However, Scamacca has his heart set on transferring to Inter.

The Nerazzurri have added another center-forward in January, Felipe Caicedo. However, it will be just for the next six months. They will have their hands free to go after their top target next summer. The youngster would be the heir apparent to Edin Dzeko, who is 35.

Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali was coy when asked whether Davide Frattesi and the 23-year-old would stay put in January: “There is still some time left before deadline day, so we will see. We have received some requests. We intend to keep them a little longer and discuss them down the line. There is some interest for them in Italy, but luckily also from some foreign teams.”

According to Alfredo Pedullà, Juventus touched base for Scamacca before going all-in on Dusan Vlahovic, but they were told that Inter already had the inside track to purchase him. Milan expressed interest in case one between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud left the club.
