Inter Contact Tessmann But No Negotiations, Says Venezia Director

Venezia technical director Cristiano Molinaro has admitted to contacts with Serie A champions Inter regarding their interest in signing American talent Tanner Tessmann. Several clubs, including Inter, Fiorentina and Atalanta are on Tessmann’s trail, expressing their interest to sign him this summer.

In a recent interview on the sidelines of the opening of the transfer market in Rimini, the executive took stock of the transfer market situation surrounding Tessmann, who is contracted to Venezia until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

Molinaro has admitted to making contacts with interested clubs, but no negotiations yet.

“There have been contacts, yes, but no negotiations. Tessman is a true athlete, he comes from a background in American football and is a player who is physically very good at it. He will certainly have an important career.” (via FCInterNews)

22-year-old Tanner is expected to move if a substantial offer arrives Venezia’ way, but Molinaro reiterated Tessmann’s focus on his immediate duties

“There have been some tentative chats, but for now Tess is focused on the Olympics and we are focused on the start of next season. He has had incredible growth, perhaps he is a little shy but he has shown that he has great value and this has attracted a lot of attention to him. We will make the necessary assessments with director Riccardo Antonelli.”

Tessmann, who functions as a center midfielder, played a significant part in propelling Venezia back into Serie A after a two-season hiatus. He spent his inaugural season in Italy playing for Venezia in the 2021/22 Serie A campaign when they got relegated to the second-tier.
