Inter Contract Rebel Alexis Sanchez Turns Down Arab Offer

Last season’s Serie A runners-up Inter cannot get rid of Alexis Sanchez as the Chilean continues to turn down offers from abroad. According to FCInter1908, the veteran winger has refused an approach from Saudi Arabian outfit Al Nassr.

Despite being put on the chopping block by Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi, Sanchez is unwilling to go down without a fight. The Italians are hellbent on offloading the 33-year-old in order to make room in their wage bill and pursue other transfer targets.

Sanchez’s potential departure would free up around £7m in salary and allow Inter to compile with Financial Fair Play. However, the player has no intention of going anywhere. At the very least, he is not interested in leaving European football.

Per the same report, Sanchez believes he still has a couple of top-flight seasons left in the tank. Unfortunately, not many sides are interested in taking him away from Giuseppe Meazza. Al Nassr have come forward with an offer. But it has fallen on the ex-Barcelona man’s deaf ears.

Sanchez spent most of last season playing second fiddle to Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa. He racked up just seven Serie A starts in 2021/22. With Romelu Lukaku’s return to Inter, his game time is unlikely to improve next term.

Inter even tried to terminate Sanchez’s contract last week by offering him a €4m pay-out. Given his lucrative salary in Lombardy, it takes no rocket science to understand he did not think twice before knocking that bid back.

As things stand, the Sanchez soap opera is far from over.
