Inter Director Denies Any Interest in Chelsea Striker

Inter director Piero Ausilio replied to some questions about local players while attending an event organized by the Albanian Football Federation. He dismissed any potential link to Armando Broja (via Calciomercato).

“I’m sorry, but that’s not true. We’re happy with our current strikers. I know him, and I’m aware he’s recovering from a serious injury and even scored recently. I hope he’ll have a good game with his national team on Thursday. But there’s no chance he joins us.”

Inter have been mildly attached to a potential January addition up front, with Mehdi Taremi rumored to be a potential target. However, Marko Arnautovic coming back early from injury will give the brass time to properly assess him ahead of the winter.

Ausilio also discussed Krstijan Asslani.

“We signed him because we thought he could have been important to us, even though he’s still young and inexperienced. As all raw talents, he needs time. We believe in him, and the coach does too.”

“Marcelo Brozovic departed last summer also because we wanted to give him more game time. We have Hakan Calhanoglu in that role as well, though. He’s playing, and featuring with Albania will make him stronger.”

The former Empoli prodigy has logged 125 total minutes so far, drawing just one start, to being his second Inter season.
