Inter Displeased with Alexis Sanchez Venting, Will Consider January Sale

Alexis Sanchez had a small outburst on social media after the Sassuolo game. The striker wrote: “You will not shine if you are in the wrong place.” Inter did not appreciate it, but they will not fine him right away. The parties will discuss the situation after the international break, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

The Chilean attacker has played just 70 minutes so far. He missed a few matches in the early going due to a lingering calf injury. His role as the top offensive backup and super-sub has been absorbed by newcomer Joaquin Correa.

The publication adds that it is not the first time Sanchez voiced his discontent for lack of playing time. He did the same in the past campaign and asked to leave in January. Inter had orchestrated a swap with Roma involving Edin Dzeko. It collapsed, and the striker had a decent second half of the season.

The minor incident could impact his future. Inter would not mind shedding his large salary from the books as he is no longer a pivotal player. The forward currently makes €7M net, which weighs €10.5M on the balance sheets thanks to some fiscal benefits.

The Nerazzurri tried to offload Sanchez in the summer, but they could not find a taker also because he was hurt. The 32-year-old initially joined the Beneamata on loan from Manchester United in 2019 and then as a free agent the following summer. He has tallied 11 goals and 19 assists in 74 matches during his time in Milan.
