Inter Dwarf Liverpool with Away Ticket Allocation for UCL Tie

Liverpool have been handed their part of the allocation of tickets at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, when Inter welcome the Merseyside giants for the 1st leg encounter of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie that will be played on February 16.

Stadiums in Italy are currently operating at 50% of their capacity due to local coronavirus restrictions, making it extremely hard for visiting teams to be backed by away support in large numbers. This means that Reds fans will have to make peace with just 2,180 tickets excluding 220 top category seats that are allocated as part of the players, staff and VIP allocation.

This will be the second time this campaign that San Siro will be hosting Liverpool, having already witnessed the Reds take on Milan in their final group stage match at the end of last year.

In stark contrast to the knockout clash against Inter, that match saw a crowd of 56,237 spectators witness Liverpool grab a 2-1 victory over the Rossoneri.

Liverpool’s last visit coincided with Italian stadiums open upto 75% of their working capacity, before the arrival of the Omicron variant which prompted the government to reduce the capacity by 25%.

Full details regarding the allocation of tickets for Liverpool fans can be found on the club’s official website here.
