Inter Eager to Sign Atalanta Full-Back Robin Gosens

With a difficult half of the season underway, Inter are keen on increasing their squad depth as they prepare to make an audacious offer for Atalanta’s full-back Robin Gosens, a player that they have had under their radar for several years.

According to Sempre Inter  (via Sky Sports), the Nerazzuri are prepared to sign a wing-back before the end of the winter transfer window as negotiations with Ivan Perisic regarding his renewal with the club seem to be held to a halt. As a result, the club officials are plotting an attempt to lure the German international to the Stadio San Siro by the end of the week as they view him as a perfect addition to fill the potential void within the wing-back position.

Throughout his fives years with La Dea, the 27 year-old has accumulated an impressive resume as he made a total of 157 appearances and scored 28 goals for the black and blue of Bergamo. In addition, Gosens has made 13 appearances for the German national team, playing a pivotal role within his nation’s Euro 2020 campaign.

As it stands, the German full-back’s contract is set to expire in June 2023. Despite the fact that Atalanta have mentioned that they do not have any intentions in letting the 27 year-old go before the end of this year’s Serie A campaign, Inter are plotting a potential offer around the region of 25M in order to secure the signing of Gosens.

Unfortunately for Inter, the Nerazzuri face a great deal of competition for the acquisition of Gosens as Newcastle have also inquired about the 27 year-old. Regardless, the club officials are prepared to enter full-fledged within the race for the signature of the German full-back as they firmly believe Gosens can be the perfect successor for Perisic through his excellent defending, his brilliant dribbling skills along the flank, and his great deal of pace.
