Inter are pursuing Yunus Musah, more for the future than for January, as his price tag is large. The youngster is starring for the United States in Qatar.

Inter Establish Contact with Valencia for Yunus Musah

Last season’s Serie A runners-up Inter have reportedly set sights on United States rising star Yunus Musah. According to Calciomerato, the Italians have established contacts with the agent of the Valencia starlet following an eye-catching World Cup form.

Keen to address the shortage of numbers in the engine room, Inter are scouring the market for a new midfielder. With Roberto Gagliardini and summer addition Kristjan Asllani performing below expectations, Simone Inzaghi hopes to bolster his midfield set-up in January.

Musah, the author of a decent World Cup with the USMNT, has popped up on the Italian heavyweights’ radar. Contacts have been made, but Valencia’s substantial €40m asking price remains a sticking point. Aware of the gem they have, the Spaniards are eager to make the most out of the youngster’s departure.

While Inter would like to see the 20-year-old donning the Nerazzurri shirt, the economic aspect of the deal is an obstacle. The Giuseppe Meazza outfit, faced with financial turmoil for quite a while, cannot afford to match Valencia’s demands unless they sell someone first. However, there’s still hope.

It’s said Musah is open to a move as he aims to take his career to the next level after making a name for himself under Gennaro Gattuso this season. He learned his trait at Arsenal’s youth academy before joining Valencia as a teenager in 2019.

Only two years into his senior career at the Estadio de Mestalla, Musah could be subjected to a megabuck move abroad. Inter are exploring the possibility of taking him to Serie A, but unless Beppe Marotta finds a way to raise funds, they could miss out on his signature.
