Inter Exec Ausilio Stonewalls Tottenham Interest in Their Players

Tottenham have immediately been linked to multiple Serie A players upon hiring Antonio Conte, including some Inter stars. But director Piero Ausilio suggested that the Nerazzurri will not make any move in either direction in the next window: “We intend to continue with this group. We will not consider any request for sales in January.”

The executive talked to Sky Sport: “We know this team has quality and that the coach took the reins just a few months back. In the Winter, we will give continuity to what we started in June. Then we could make some different evaluations next summer. However, they will be only in the direction of strengthening Inter and not weaken it.”

Ausilio confirmed that the extension of Nicolò Barella is upcoming: “We strongly want to prolong his deal and keep him here for a long time. We will soon meet with him and his agent to find a solution. He is a great player. We hope he will be part of the Inter project in the future as well. We will convene in the next few days.”

The official commented on Conte returning to England: “We have not talked yet because it happened quickly and we were traveling. I am very happy for him, and I wish him the best for this new adventure. I know how much he likes to work in the Premier League and how much passion and skills he puts into everything. There is no doubt on my part that he will do well with the Spurs.”
