Inter Eye Milan Target to Potentially Replace Dumfries

Even though his recent remarks hinted at an extension with Inter, the brass continue to operate as if Denzel Dumfries will depart this summer and have taken an interest in Matty Cash, who has been recently linked to Milan as well, Sky informs.

Aston Villa might need to sell more players on top of Douglas Luiz to comply with the Premier League’s PSR. The 26-year-old joined them from Nottingham Forest for €16M back in 2020 and has recorded 142 caps, 9 goals, and 10 assists since. He has made 15 appearances with Poland.

Cash isn’t the only right-back eyed by Inter amid the search for a Dumfries heir. Their sporting Piero Ausilio attended Scotland-Switzerland to take another close look at Dan Ndoye. He stars in a more offensive role with his national team and at Bologna but used to feature as a wing-back with Basel.

The Nerazzurri have also been attached to Emil Holm. Atalanta didn’t activate their option to buy, so he’ll be back at Spezia. However, the Rossoblù have tabled a robust bid and are leading the race to sign him permanently.

Our Take on Inter, Dumfries, and Cash

Since the Scudetto winners need to sell their own player before adding another one, it’s unlikely the domino will come to fruition by June 30th. On the other hand, if they really like the Pole, a swap deal could be on the table later on. Aston Villa are reportedly one of the few teams keen on the Nerazzurri star.
