Inter Eye Some Muscular Options to Complete Midfield

After wrapping up the Benjamin Pavard deal, Inter will turn their attention toward signing another man to bolster their midfield. They were on the verge of acquiring Lazar Samardzic, but the deal collapsed over problems with his entourage.

According to TuttoSport (via Calciomercato), the Nerazzurri are considering adding a physical player. They have inquired with RB Salzburg about Lucas Gourna-Douath. However, he has a €20M price tag. He moved to Austria from Saint-Etienne for €13M last summer. He appeared 25 times with his current team, while he has 62 Ligue 1 matches to his name.

Inter are also eyeing a Serie A retread to round out their midfield, Tanguy Ndombélé. Tottenham are looking for a taker after he wasn’t redeemed by Napoli. He had 40 caps with the Italian champions, mostly off the bench, failing to impress.

The 26-year-old is likely to be on the move again since he hasn’t panned out in London. The Spurs agreed to a season-long spell with a €30M option to buy last year, which the Azzurri didn’t pick up.

Our Take on the Inter Midfield

It’d be a hard pivot compared to Samardzic, but they do lack somebody muscular there. After signing Pavard, their budget will be very low, so they’ll have to find somebody decent on loan if they wish to. They could just keep Stefano Sensi as a technical option.
