Inter Eye Torino’s Schuurs But Atalanta Prodigy Remains Main Target

With Milan Skriniar and Stefan De Vrij’s respective futures under the microscope and perhaps away from the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Inter have been making evaluations for their successors in the backline. The Nerazzurri have struggled defensively this season, conceding the highest number of goals – 24 – among the top-half teams in the league table.

Latest developments from Italy (via Calciomercato) point towards Torino for a defensive reinforcement to arrive – 23-year-old Dutch prodigy Perr Schuurs. The former Ajax man is playing his first Serie A campaign and has already impressed in the northern Italian city despite the lack of playing minutes.

Liverpool and Atletico Madrid also have burgeoning interest in the youngster, whose Torino contract expires only in the summer of 2026.

Having missed out on now-Juventus center-back Gleison Bremer when he was at the Granata, the Nerazzurri are eager to make this move work. However, Schuurs is not their main target to bolster the backline, as Atalanta talent Giorgio Scalvini takes the credit.

Inter will need to part ways with atleast €30M for Scalvini, which is Atalanta’s bare minimum asking price. Whereas, speculatively, Schuurs is the more affordable of the two.
