Inter Finally Expected to Finalize Sommer Deal Soon

Inter are on the brink of securing their primary target between the sticks Yann Sommer. They reached a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich. The deal is expected to be finalized early next week. The goalkeeper dug his heels in to move to the Nerazzurri, but the Bavarians wanted to wait to find another specialist. It should be David Raya.

According to SportMediaset, the Italian side will pay a €4M fee plus add-ons. The parties met in the middle considering his €6M release clause, which the counterparty disputed, and the opening offer.

Inter zeroed in on Sommer after selling André Onana to Manchester United, but the pursuit took longer than anticipated. Both sides are currently in Japan for a pair of friendlies. It helped the negotiation but might slow down the formalities.

The Nerazzurri plan to sign a second shot-stopper and are eyeing Anatoliy Trubin. They struck a deal on personal terms. They are confident he would join on a Bosman move in 2024 if Shakhtar Donetsk doesn’t let go of him this summer. Emil Audero could be the stopgap next season.

Our Take on Inter and Sommer

They had to be a little patient, but they will get their guy and another goalie who’s excellent with his feet. The low offers for the Ukrainian prodigy are justifiable if they can get him gratis, but it’d be better if he came in this summer too.
