Inter Formally Announce Two Anticipated Key Extensions

Inter aren’t busy just signing new players, as they have locked up two of their own too, Alessandro Bastoni and Hakan Calhanoglu. The previous contracts of the two stars would have run out at the end of next season. Instead, the defender pushed the expiration date to 2028, while the Turk to 2027.

According to Calcio e Finanza, the Azzurri staple will nearly double his wages and earn €5.5M net annually. The Turk will receive a small pay hike and cash in €6.5M plus add-ons.

Bastoni has been at the club since 2019, while Calhanoglu joined Inter two years ago in a controversial free transfer from Milan. The center-back has logged 164 appearances, while the maestro has tallied 12 goals and 21 assists in 95 matches since crossing the Navigli.

The 24-year-old has been occasionally linked to a move to the Premier League. However, his desire to stay put always helped the Nerazzurri, and that was the case also during the recent negotiations.

Our Take on Inter Re-Upping Bastoni and Calhanoglu

Giuseppe Marotta has been firing on all cylinders this summer. The Champions League’s prize money, plus Milan Skriniar’s exit, finally gave the front office some wiggle room financially, and they are putting it to good use.
