Inter Get Double Boost with Dumfries Coup and Lautaro Likely Staying

Even though they officially bid farewell to Romelu Lukaku today, Inter still received a pair of positive transfer news today. Their chase of Denzel Dumfries has been victorious. He has already landed in Milan and will take the medicals tomorrow. The Nerazzurri will pay €12.5M plus €2M add-ons to PSV, Alfredo Pedullà reports.

They have been pursuing the 25-year-old fullback since the departure of Achraf Hakimi. However, they did not have the means to get him on a permanent deal before. Inter got some help from the player himself, who was eager to leave. He reportedly turned down other destinations, primarily Everton, to join them. He has recorded 17 goals and 26 assists in 153 Eredivisie matches considering also his time at Sparta Rotterdam.

Lukaku will most likely be their last star to depart this summer. Lautaro Martinez has a long list of suitors but should continue playing in Serie A. His agent Alejandro Camano announced it to TycSports: “As things stand, he will not leave Inter despite receiving some proposals from Premier League clubs. He is happy in Milan and loves the club. We will meet next week to discuss his new contract. He wants to stay, our desire is clear, but it depends also on what the Nerazzurri want to do.”

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Inter brass will talk with his representative to establish if there are the premises to extend his deal until 2026. His current one expires in 2023 and he is due for a significant pay raise.
