Inter Eyeing Italian Duo, Suggested as Landing Spot for Barcelona Star

Despite the financial difficulties, Inter will not stop at Hakan Calhanoglu in the transfer market. Agent Beppe Riso visited their headquarters and proposed Gianluca Mancini and Matteo Pessina. The Nerazzurri could pursue them later on in case of departures in their roles, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports. Moreover, they have held preliminary talks with Barcelona for Jordi Alba, Mundo Deportivo indicates, although a deal is very complicated.

Mancini will soon have a summit with Roma CEO Tiago Punto to discuss an extension. The Giallorossi plan to give him a long-term contract and double his salary. Inter are monitoring the situation and have short-listed him should they sell one of their top defenders due to a mammoth offer.

Pessina would instead become a real target if they managed to offload Radja Nainggolan and Joao Mario. Arturo Vidal could also be on his way out as a cost-cutting measure, and Matias Vecino is not a lock to stay either. Inter may lose a lot of depth, and the Atalanta midfielder would be an ideal addition. Furthermore, the two sides have an excellent relationship. Riso also stated that Federico Dimarco and Eddy Salcedo are likely to stay in Milan after the loan spells at Verona.

On the other hand, the pursuit of Jordi Alba is considerably trickier given its costs. The Spaniard is under contract until 2024 and would like to stay, but Barcelona will ask him to take a pay cut. His club could make him available on the market if the talks were not fruitful. In such case, Inter would consider him after the sale of Achraf Hakimi, but there would be plenty of competition.
