Inter Got Closer but Haven’t Captured Palacios Yet

Inter had a positive meeting with the directors of the two teams that control the future of Tomas Palacios, but it’s not a done deal yet. The summit went well, as agent Marcelo Simonian confirmed in some brief remarks. He’s serving as an intermediary.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Nerazzurri have tendered €6.5M plus significant add-ons. The total package could amount to €11M if all are activated. The parties are discussing these elements and will likely convene again soon.

Inter are unlikely to raise their offer for Palacios and will try to make all the pieces of the puzzle fit in the right place. Per La Gazzetta dello Sport, there’s major optimism about the outcome. The defender could soon arrive in Milan for the medicals and the signature.

The youngster has immediately been very appreciative of the courtship, putting on hold the talks with other sides. He had been tracked by several European teams and Saudi Arabia. The operation probably won’t envisage a future resale clause.

Inter will finance the acquisition of Palacios primarily through the sale of Martin Satriano. He has accepted to join Lille and will do so on a €1M season-long spell, a €5M obligation to buy, a 10/20 resale clause. The Nerazzurri also recently parted ways with Issiaka Kamaté, but they’ll retain control over his future. Instead, there’s no traction regarding the departures of Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa. They might simply end up staying, especially the Austrian talisman, who’s well-liked the in the locker room.
