Inter Have Offered Incentive-Laden Contract to Dybala

Inter have tendered three different contracts to Paulo Dybala since he bid farewell to Juventus. They have not received a firm yes on any of them yet. In addition, following the finalization of the return of Romelu Lukaku, the club wishes to unclog the attack before putting pen to paper with the Argentine.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, CEO Giuseppe Marotta will soon meet again with intermediary Fabrizio De Vecchi to stay in touch with La Joya’s camp. Agent Jorge Antun, who rebuffed them a couple of weeks ago and is driving a hard bargain, will not be involved this time around.

The most recent proposal is still on the table. It consists of €5M wages plus €1M tied to how much the attacker plays next season. Dybala would get it if he featured in half of the Inter matches. Plus, there are further add-ons that hinge on his personal and the team’s achievements. His entourage communicated they had no interest in appearance-related bonuses. In addition, the parties discussed the insertion of a relatively low release clause.

The Nerazzurri will seek to offload two among Alexis Sanchez, Edin Dzeko and Joaquin Correa first. The Chilean veteran will leave with a severance package, while there are currently no concrete bids for the other two. In the meantime, the management will keep negotiating with the prospective newcomer.

Our Take on Dybala and Inter

It should not be forgotten that the forward had an agreement in principle with Juventus for €8M plus €2M extra late last year before the Bianconeri backtracked. While it has long seemed a foregone conclusion that he would join La Benemata, other sides, for instance, Milan and Roma, could easily make a run at him if he was indeed willing to accept significantly lower figures.
