With the Serie A set to come to a close this upcoming weekend, Torino boss Ivan Juric has accepted defeat in attempting to keep Gleison Bremer for an additional year.

Inter Hopes of Landing Bremer Dealt Major Blow

Inter are desperate to sign Torino star Gleison Bremer this summer. However, Urbano Cairo’s requests to let his star leave could throw a spanner in the works. As per Tuttosport, via TUTTOmercatoWEB, the Granata bigwig holds out for his €30m valuation of the Brazilian defender.

Known for his unwillingness to make discounts, Cairo will likely stick to his guns until the end of the summer. That could prove a major roadblock as Inter hope to make Bremer their marquee signing after surrendering the Serie A title to Milan last term.

A lack of funds forced the Nerazzurri to part with standout stars Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku last summer. Unfortunately, cash-strapped Inter could find themselves in a similar situation this summer.

The 19th-time Serie A champions are walking the tightrope of Financial Fair Play and remain under enormous pressure to make a substantial profit to settle the books. It means they won’t be able to afford Bremer’s price tag.

Instead, Inter may have to offload some of their first-team stalwarts to raise funds and help Simone Inzaghi revamp his squad. Sought-after centre-back Alessandro Bastoni could fall victim to the club’s desperate need for cash.

After Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United have recently joined the hunt to sign Bastoni. Held in the highest esteem at Giuseppe Meazza, the Italian defender is said to be keen on pledging his future to the Lombard outfit.

However, much will depend on the financial situation. If Inter are to land Bremer, someone has to go. And since Bastoni is one of their most in-demand and prized assets, he could be the one to make room for his Torino counterpart.

Long story short, this could be another exhausting transfer campaign for the Inter fans.
