Inter Icon Materazzi Praises Mourinho for ‘Impossible’ Roma Magic

Inter icon Marco Materazzi, who played a pivotal role under former boss Jose Mourinho enroute the historic treble for the Nerazzurri in 2009/10, has praised the Special One for his managerial prowess. He believes the Roma coach has done the impossible by reuniting the Giallorossi fans and team together

Materazzi spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport and revealed how the capital club have reached the levels of fellow Scudetto contenders by reinforcing themselves to the best of their abilities.

“Many teams have reinforced themselves in this window, especially Roma. Mourinho created an incredible feeling between the club and the supporters, just look at what happened on Sunday in the friendly with Shakhtar Donetsk.”

Further emphasizing on Mourinho’s ‘magic’, Materazzi spoke of the manager’s ability to lure world-class talent.

“He recreated magic between team, club and fans. He has the experience and credibility that help to attract very good players and make the most of others, to have them grow in mentality and awareness thanks to the European triumph in the Conference League.”

“I heard someone say ‘He just won a small trophy!’ Well, winning is never easy. José showed that he knew how to do it. And then he united Roma, that’s his real miracle: it’s not easy in Rome, it’s almost impossible.”

Roma have onboarded Mile Svilar, Zeki Celik, Nemanja Matic, Georginio Wijnaldum and the most exciting of all, Paulo Dybala, into their ranks. They open their Serie A account against Salernitana.
