Inter have added a high-profile option to their list of Bosman targets, as they have started tracking Jonathan Tah, who announced that he wouldn’t renew his expiring contract with Bayer Leverkusen, Calciomercato informs.
The Nerazzurri quickly touched base after the recent turn of events, but their interest is only preliminary at this stage. They’d have to beat Bayern Munich, who extensively tried to convince Die Aspirin to sell him to them in the most recent window.
In addition to Inter, Barcelona and more top clubs are lining up to snap up Tah for free in 2025. Besides his quality, the defender is particularly palatable because he has a low salary, €1.5M annually. It wouldn’t be a problem to meet his demands.
The 28-year-old has been at Bayer Leverkusen since 2015 after getting his start at Hamburg and Fortuna Dusseldorf. He has logged over 350 appearances at the club, scoring 14 goals and dishing 12 assists. He has 30 caps with Germany.
The Nerazzurri have started to search for an heir to Francesco Acerbi and Stefan De Vrij, who are in the same contractual situation. Udinese’s Jaka Bijol is also on their early shortlist for the position.
