Inter, Juve and Milan Keep Close Tabs on Monza Wingback

Monza center-back Carlos Augusto has been making headlines for all the right reasons, most recently earning his side an important point with the equaliser against Cremonese. His five goals and four assists in 26 appearances this season have garnered the attention of top clubs, and it looks like the Biancorossi will have a hard time in keeping hold of him.

As per Calciomercato, there will be stiff competition from top Italian clubs, including Juventus, Inter, and Milan, for the 24-year-old’s services. Augusto has earned comparisons with Milan wingback Theo Hernandez for his explosive style of play, although he is understood to be tactically more flexible than the former Real Madrid man.

Monza chief Adriano Galliani is eager to see Augusto stay with the club, with his current contract expiring in the summer of 2024. Negotiations are expected to take place in the coming weeks, but the lure of moving to a big club might be too much for the Brazilian, who is experiencing his first season in the Italian top flight.

The defender, who can also function as a pure winger upfront, prefers to have a starring role and avoid becoming just another substitute going forward.
