Inter Legend Bergomi Analyzes Fiorentina Serbian Duo

Legendary one-club man Giuseppe Bergomi, who spent his career at Inter, now works as a pundit at Sky Sport Italia, analyzed the recent transfer market moves by Fiorentina in an excerpt on Radio Bruno (via FCInterNews), going into detail on the arrival of Luka Jovic from Real Madrid.

He first pointed out Nikola Milenkovic, who has long been linked to a move away from Florence – with the Nerazzurri being a likely destination if he leaves. Milan Skriniar will potentially be Inter’s first departure from the backline, and the Viola star could perfectly fill his boots, as per Lo Zio.

“This seems to be a window for defenders. Clubs may prefer to sell in such role because perhaps it is more easy to replace them than an attacker. Milenkovic is an excellent center-back and a good guy.”

Bergomi believes Jovic made the right choice by leaving the Blancos to join Fiorentina. He sees them as the apt destination to relaunch his career.

“It is tight to go for these players who have hunger and desire for revenge. You have to be patient because, though. He impressed me when he faced Inter in Frankfurt. Then in Madrid, he found less space. I think Florence could be the right place to relaunch him.”

Milenkovic’s transfer saga is currently gaining pace, with Juventus and Inter fighting it out for his signature. Whereas, Jovic will look to reboot his career at the Stadio Artemio Franchi after three unsuccessful campaigns in Spain.
