The race to capture Bremer has entered its home stretch, with Juventus joining following the sale of De Ligt and Inter meeting Torino.

Inter-Linked Bremer Well Positioned in Milan Wishlist

Milan continue to keep tabs on Sven Botman, but Inter target Bremer has become a serious alternative. As it happened in January, Newcastle are strong competitors for the Dutchman. The defender de facto announced that he would leave Lille in an interview with Algemeen Gadblad.

“I do not know for sure whether the recent season finale was my last game with them, but I think so. My intention is to level up. I hope the transfer will be completed soon, preferably before the start of summer camp. I am aware of the Magpies’ interest. My desire is to take a step forward and play in a nice competition. I am looking forward to it. On top of the choice of my current club and the league I would move in, also my gut feeling about the new team will have a role in the transfer.”

According to Sky, the recent talks for Botman have been ‘less fluid’ than in the past. Bremer has a ‘virtual handshake’ with Inter, but they can not proceed until they sell one of their starters, leaving an opening to Milan. His price tag can not skyrocket because he has a future release clause in his contract.

Our Take on Milan Challenging Inter for Bremer

The Rossoneri are in a good spot since they are not necessarily desperate. They will most likely lose Alessio Romagnoli, but Pierre Kalulu showed very well, and Simon Kjaer should be ready by the start of next season. Botman would probably be a more seamless fit since he is more used to a four-man line. However, Bremer has been spectacular in the last two seasons, and stealing him from Inter would be an extra bonus, so Milan should go for him if the price tag of the Lille center-back spiked.
