Inter List City Defender Ake as Potential Replacement for Skriniar

With Milan Skriniar potentially departing Inter in the winter transfer window, the Nerazzurri have listed the Manchester City defender Nathan Ake as a possible replacement for the Slovakian international.

As it stands, Inter are currently offering Skriniar €6m per-season, while the 27 year-old star stopper is demanding wages of €7.5m per-year.

As a result, with the central defender’s contract with La Benemata currently running out at the end of this year’s current campaign, Inter might be forced to sell Skriniar in January in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer next season.

With European giants PSG and Real Madrid monitoring the situation, Il Biscione have identified Ake as an alternative signing in order to fill the shoes of the 27 year-old defender, as per Calciomercato.

Since arriving to Manchester City from Bournemouth in the summer of 2020, the Dutch international has only made 30 appearances across all competitions throughout his two-year stay at the Etihad Stadium. In addition, the 27 year-old City player has made 29 appearances for the Dutch national team.

Following Ake’s failed return to his childhood Chelsea in the summer, Inter are earmarking the €25m central defender as he seeks more playing time on the pitch.

The Nerazzurri rate the well-documented defender highly as he possesses the versatility to be deployed as both a left-back and center-back within the back-line.
