Inter Make Progress in Talks with Arsenal to Bring In Hector Bellerin

Inter are working on multiple fronts to strengthen the squad and adequately substitute Achraf Hakimi. The agent of Hector Bellerin met Arsenal Thursday. He inquired about whether the Gunners would let him leave on an initial loan, and they are now more open to such possibility. However, they need to find a replacement first, Sky Sport reports.

The Spanish fullback has already informed his club that he wants to leave. He prefers moving to Inter rather than to Atletico Madrid or Villarreal, Calciomercato.com reports. The deal would progress quickly once Arsenal accept the formula.

The arrival of Bellerin is not mutually exclusive with the addition of Nahitan Nandez, who is more natural as a box-to-box. Cagliari director Stefano Capozucca confirmed the state of affairs to Radio Sky Lab: “We are in talks with the Nerazzurri. If they submit a congruous offer, the player will join them.” Leeds United pursued him early in the offseason, but the Uruguayan international picked Inter over them.

Despite what previous reports suggested, Nandez might not replace Arturo Vidal after all. The Chilean midfielder announced to the club’s TV that he plans to stay at Inter: “My last season was not very good. I missed two-to-three months due to physical problems. This year, I want to be 100 percent to show who I truly am. I have spoken to the management, and they have a lot of confidence in me. I will work very hard. We won the Scudetto, we must repeat and go far in the Champions League.”
