Inter Might Sign More than One Goalie if Onana Leaves

Inter rejected the opening offer from Manchester United for André Onana, but the deal hasn’t collapsed. It could go through quickly if the Red Devils improved their proposal. Should it happen, the Nerazzurri would likely attempt to acquire two goalkeepers since they would be depleted between the sticks, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The Premier League powerhouse improved its offer €50M. La Beneamata wants €60M but is open to reaching such a threshold with the help of sizeable bonuses. They’d like to come to a resolution, positive or negative, before the end of July.

If Onana joins Manchester United, Inter would find themselves with no shot-stoppers other than a few youngsters. Samir Handanovic is currently out of contract. Alex Cordaz is expected to join Al-Nassr.

Anatoliy Trubin remains the frontrunner to succeed the Cameroonian. But the Nerazzurri might not stop there and also add a veteran like Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer or PSG’s Keylor Navas.

Our Take on Inter and Their Goalkeepers

They don’t necessarily need to sell per se, but they have to collect money if they want to acquire Romelu Lukaku and complete other acquisitions. Handanovic wasn’t awful as a deputy and, rather than signing a more cumbersome option that would put pressure on a young starter, they should just re-up with him. They suspiciously didn’t bid him farewell on June 30th, unlike the other players whose contracts expired.
