Inter Miss Out on Everton Fullback, Earmark Empoli Talent

Inter pursued Lucas Digne, but the fullback is poised to join Aston Villa. The Birmingham-based club easily outbid them, as the Nerazzurri merely proposed a loan. They have an agreement in place with Everton for a €27M move, La Repubblica informs.

The Italian club inquired about the Frenchman, but they did not make substantial offers besides suggesting a swap with Matias Vecino. Inter will have to look elsewhere if they want to bolster the left wing. Aleksandar Kolarov is still on the roster, and so they still have enough depth with Federico Dimarco currently backing up Ivan Perisic.

The Serbian veteran has decided to retire and join Simone Inzaghi’s staff, but that may happen only in the summer. He is looking for a team where he could play consistently for his final six months. Otherwise, he could simply decide to stay put, Corriere dello Sport informs.

Inter are keeping tabs on Ramy Bensebaini and Filip Kostic for the role. However, considering the sizeable requests by Borussia Moenchengladbach and Eintracht Frankfurt, they are more feasible targets for the summer. The Nerazzurri might have to look for two contributors considering Ivan Perisic’s murky future.

A new name has landed on their radar as they have joined the race for Empoli’s Fabiano Parisi, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports. He has drawn interest also from Lazio and Napoli. Inter have a tight relationship with Empoli and are said to be high on the young fullback. On the other hand, the 21-year-old just suffered a significant thigh injury.
