Inter Moving Away from Two Rumored Defensive Targets

Inter have been linked to two young targets to round out their defense, Yarek Gasiorowski and Nathan Zezé. While their ownership is in favor of investing in talents, their price tags are likely excessive for the deals to happen this summer, Corriere dello Sport informed (via Mediaset).

Valencia want to keep the Spaniard and are discussing an extension. They aim to raise his release clause to €45M to avoid any possible threat in the future as well.

Nantes could be more willing to negotiate the departure of Zezé given Valencia’s stance on Gasiorowski, but they value him €30. West Ham are also interested and is fueling a bidding war. They just pipped Juventus to the post for Jean-Clair Todibo.

Per Foot Mercato, the Nerazzurri tendered €15M for the Frenchman but it wasn’t enough. The player is enthusiastic about joining but won’t force his way out.

The Scudetto holders also earmarked Zenit’s Robert Renan and Dinamo Zagreb’s Mauro Perkovic, the least expensive of the lot. In the meantime, Simone Inzaghi will keep utilizing Carlos Augusto to deputize Alessandro Bastoni, who missed the friendly against Chelsea out of precaution.

Our Take on Inter, Gasiorowski, and Zezé

Their strategy is the correct one, but they’ll need to open up their wallets to bag a prodigy. They have spent nothing this summer since they haven’t sold anybody. Still, it won’t be an issue until the Champions League starts. They have until the end of the window to find a solution.
