Andrea Cambiaso is set to be one of the hottest names of the summer, as a few big teams are already competing to acquire him from Genoa. Inter were the first ones to tangibly approach him, but Juventus and Napoli have expressed strong interest as well. He suffered a knee injury in the most recent game, but it is not too severe, Alfredo Pedullà informs.
The Nerazzurri have already had a meeting with his entourage and voiced their desire to add him regardless of their other plans for the flank. They acquired Robin Gosens in January and are negotiating an extension with Ivan Perisic. The youngster can play on either wing and will most likely turn out to be a good investment. However, Genoa initially requested €15M for Cambiaso, which has been considered too high because his contract runs out in 2023.
As for Perisic, the talks are ongoing, the transfer market expert adds. Inter offered a one-year deal, while the player asked for a further season and slightly higher wages. The parties have reduced the gap but still have some work to do.
Napoli will have a summit with the representatives of the fullback very soon too. Director Cristiano Giuntoli tried to get him for Bari a couple of seasons ago. Moreover, Juventus communicated their plans to pursue him, although their management is currently dealing with other matters. Inter made the first move, but they have not sealed the deal. Genoa and the intermediaries have successfully initiated a bidding war for Cambiaso.
