Inter are confident Tiago Djaló will pick them among the suitors tussling to onboard him in a Bosman move. They have been pursuing him for well over a year, before he suffered an ACL tear that has sidelined him for months.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Nerazzurri want him regardless of their other possible moves in the back. His arrival isn’t necessarily tied to a departure. Matteo Darmian has a short-term contract. The club holds an option to prolong it and might open talks to hand him a longer one.
While Inter are in the lead to snap up Djaló, the January window represents a roadblock. Per TuttoSport (via OneFootball), Lille might have come to grips with the fact that he’d leave on a free. They could decide to cash in on him a little in January.
At this stage, that’s the only obstacle standing in the Nerazzurri’s way. They are in very advanced talks with his camp. He has yet to play this season as he’s working his way back from the serious injury.
