Inter Not Concerned with Most Recent Minor Injuries

Hakan Calhanoglu and Alessandro Bastoni left the Atalanta game early due to minor muscular problems, but there’s not much worry about their status going forward at Inter. They didn’t require immediate tests and will be evaluated by the Italy and Turkey doctors during the break, Corriere dello Sport informs (via OneFootball).

The Nerazzurri will have a less stressful pause than usual. Yann Sommer has retired from Switzerland. Instead, Benjamin Pavard, Matteo Darmian, Francesco Acerbi, and Stefan De Vrij haven’t been called up. The Dutchman was on the bench against La Dea after missing time with a thigh injury.

Niccolò Barella also stayed in Milan, although for medical reasons. He had surgery to address a nagging sinus infection. He’ll be sidelined for about a week and will resume training fully as Inter start preparing for their next three matches against Monza, Manchester City, and Milan.

Despite some mild attempts to keep ahold of Lautaro Martinez, who played most of the Atalanta clash after skipping one game due to muscle fatigue, he’ll be part of the Argentina squad. Coach Simone Inzaghi downplayed the situation as El Toro practiced fully for three days in a row before the most recent tilt.

If all the early diagnosis hold true, Tajon Buchanan, who’s on the mend with a leg fracture, will be the only Inter absentee once the League resumes in two weeks. The Nerazzurri have picked up seven points in the first three matches, dropping two versus Genoa in the opener.
