Inter Not Planning Thuram Sale nor Pursuing Lille Ace

Inter are considering bolstering their attack but aren’t plotting a major shift and aren’t tracking Jonathan David, as some reports suggest. Such a move would be related to the departure of Marcus Thuram, but there have been no hints of that, Alfredo Pedullà informs.

It’d be surprising if their stance changed in the coming months. There’s a very rich release clause in his contract. The Nerazzurri don’t need to sell for financial reasons this year.

David is poised to leave Lille this summer given his short-term contact, but Inter aren’t among his suitors, even should they lose Thuram. The race will involve Milan, Napoli, and a few English clubs. The Canadian marksman has overcome a slow start and is now up to 23 goals and 7 assists in 39 appearances.

The Nerazzurri have sealed the arrivals of Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi for free and are musing on their next additions. Even though his agent has been vocal about it, they aren’t in talks to onboard Mario Hermoso. They don’t seem to be particularly interested either.

Our Take on Inter and David

They weren’t planning to vend André Onana last summer eithet, but then they were blown away by an offer. In this case, it’d be out of their hands if somebody triggered Marcus Thuram’s release clause. It’s close to €100M, which is massive even though he has gone up a level this season. But they wouldn’t eventually target somebody like the Lille star, as he’s too similar to Lautaro Martinez.
