Inter are reportedly on the verge of offering a new contract for Italian central midfield ace Nicolo Barella. The 24-year-old has been a central figure in Inter’s run to glory and his commitment to the Nerazzurri has impressed the club’s management.
Barella has a contract valid until June 2024 but according to Calciomercato, Inter a determined to extend his contract along with a bonus. The bonus being his candidacy to be the next captain of the Nerazzurri.
He signed a four year contract deal in 2020 after arriving from Cagliari in 2019/20 on an initial loan deal and since then, his performances have been of the highest level.
At 21, he was praised by Italian legend Andrea Pirlo back in 2018, when he was beginning to garner the attention of top Italian clubs.
The Cagliari youth product and EURO 2020 winner has appeared 89 times for Inter, going on to score 7 goals in the process.
