Inter Outcast Radu Completes Cremonese Loan Move

Inter outcast Ionut Radu has officially left the Nerazzurri on another loan stint, this time to Serie A newcomers Cremonese, after a disappointing end to the 2021/22 league season for the Romanian goalkeeper.

On April 27th, Inter visited Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in a must-win encounter. Radu was handed a rare start and ended up committing an error which allowed Nicola Sansone to score the winner in a 2-1 defeat. The result meant that Inter dropped to second place in the Scudetto race, where they remained for the rest of the season behind eventual champions Milan.

After weeks of negotiations, the Nerazzurri shot-stopper will now guard Cremonese’s goal for the 2022/23. The Grigiorossi released a club statement marking the keeper’s loan move from Inter.

“US Cremonese announces that it has temporarily acquired the right to sports performance of the player Ionut Andrei Radu from Internazionale FC”.

It will be his fourth career loan move after previous stints at Avellino, Genoa and Parma. He is replacing Atalanta prodigy Marco Carneseccchi between the sticks. Meanwhile, Inter are now left with two world-class keepers in new signing André Onana and Slovenian icon Samir Handanovic, and choosing between them is bound to be a headache for Simone Inzaghi.
