Inter Player Ratings vs Frosinone: Dimarco’s Rocket Breaks the Deadlock

Here are our Inter player ratings against Frosinone. The Nerazzurri managed to maintain their high-flying run of form with a solid 2-0 victory over the Gialloblu, extending their unbeaten run to five consecutive league fixtures.

Federico Dimarco and Hakan Calhanoglu made it on the score-sheet this evening under the mesmerizing lights of the Stadio San Siro, allowing Inzaghi’s side to move past Juventus by two points as they now sit at the top of the league with a total of 31 points after twelve match-weeks.

Inter:(3-5-2)

Yann Sommer-8

The veteran custodian played a pivotal role in the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 victory as the 34-year-old made a sequence of fine saves which prevented Frosinone from getting back into the fixture, recording his eighth clean-sheet of the season since his move to Inter this past summer.

Matteo Darmian-7.5

The 33-year-old made perfectly timed challenges this evening which avoided the Gialloblu from entering on the break against Sommer. The Italian defender’s physical game was on point as he was hard as nails whilst on the right of Acerbi.

Francesco Acerbi-8

The former Lazio defender was remarkable yet again at the centre of the back three, winning the ball with his towering headers and superb anticipation of the game. The 35-year-old proves yet again that he is a vital asset under coach Simone Inzaghi at Inter.

Alessandro Bastoni-7.5

The Italian defender had a fine performance as he made sublime passes when moving forward and also made impressive runs in-behind when on the attack. The left-footed defender was anchor in the back with his perfectly timed challenges and strong physicality.

Denzel Dumfries- 7

The flying Dutchman had an impressive display as he was a threat on the right-hand flank with his pace and dribbling. In addition, he managed to link up with his teammates with crisp, accurate passes whilst in the build-up phase.

Nicolò Barella-7.5

The Italian international was an engine in the central area of the park, working relentlessly defensively and spraying superb passes in-behind. However, the Barella was unable to be clinical in the final third, failing to hit the target on numerous occasions.

Hakan Çalhanoğlu-8.5

The Turkish international was arguably the stand-out player this evening for Inzaghi’s side, winning numerous balls in the middle of the pitch and distributing sublime diagonal balls across the pitch in order to switch the play. The former Milan player illustrates that he is indeed the main focal point within the three-in-midfield.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan-7

The Armenian international caused trouble with his pace and dribbling when running through the midfield, but over-hit several key passes in the final third of the pitch.

Federico Dimarco-8.5

Dimarco was stellar this evening on the left side, tracking back defensively and causing havoc with his golden left foot as he dispatched quickfire passes and brought down numerous balls with superb touches. The wing-back broke the deadlock from long-range, stunning shot-stopper Massimo Turati as he was caught off his line from the halfway line more-less, scoring a major contender for goal of the season.

Marcus Thuram-7.5

The Frenchman was a handful this evening for Frosinone with his blistering pace and fine link-up play. The 25-year-old talisman caused the penalty as he was tripped while weaving through the back-line in the box with his remarkable dribbling. Despite being lively and bringing energy into the final third, Thuram lacked the finishing touch this evening as his timing in-front of goal seemed off.

Lautaro Martinez-7

Despite making key dribbles and delivering fine passes, the Argentinian international was far from clinical up-top this evening, missing numerous occasions to extend his goal tally. Especially towards the end of the game where Caleb Okali gifted him the ball in-front of goal, the skipper should not be missing from such close range.

Substitutes:

Stefan De Vrij-6.5

The Dutch international remained solid in the back and won vital duels when Frosinone were on the attack.

Davide Fratessi-6.5

Despite adding energy and making some fine passes, the former Sassuolo midfielder failed to really make his mark on the match with some poor touches when moving forward.

Marko Arnautovic-6

Although the veteran forward had some impressive touches on the ball, Arnautovic was far from a major threat up-top when offering his services in exchange for Thuram.
