Inter Player Ratings vs Juventus: Dimarco Strike Seals Spot in Grand Finale

At the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium in Milano, Inter hosted Juventus in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final. While the first encounter was a razor-tight affair, it was all Nerazzurri this time, as Simone Inzaghi’s men dominated the action from start to finish. While they only managed to grab a single goal, it was sufficient to book a spot in next month’s final. So here are our player ratings for Inter who are now waiting for the winner between Fiorentina and Cremonese after overcoming Juventus 2-1 on aggregate.

Inter (3-5-2)

André Onana – 6.5

The former Ajax custodian didn’t have to pull off any spectacular saves, but he was always alert to the danger and positioned himself perfectly to produce comfortable interventions.

Matteo Darmian – 6.5

The experienced defender remains the unsung hero at Inter. He did well to support Dumfries in his runs and dealt confidently with Federico Chiesa and co.

Francesco Acerbi – 7

A true veteran display from the former Lazio man. The savvy defender frustrated Chiesa and Arkadiusz Milik with his timely interceptions and perfect blocks.

Alessandro Bastoni – 7

The Italy international succeeded in limiting Angel Di Maria’s danger. Never put a foot wrong at the back and occasionally joined in on the attacks.

Denzel Dumfries – 7

The much-maligned Dutchman defied his detractors with a solid shift on the right flank. Completely nullified Filip Kostic in the first half and produced dangerous crosses to the box.

Nicolò Barella – 7.5

The former Cagliari man was running the show for Inter before sustaining a muscular strain. Outclassed Manuel Locatelli and Adrien Rabiot in the middle of the park and put Dimarco through on goal with an astonishing assist.

Hakan Calhanoglu – 7

The Turkish midfielder enjoyed himself while dictating the tempo in the Regista role. Juventus had no answer for his shrewd passes.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 6.5

The Armenian almost doubled the Beneamata’s lead, but was denied by a fabulous Mattia Perin save. Connected well with his teammates and played an important role in both phases.

Federico Dimarco – 8

A superb display from the childhood Inter supporter who will cherish this night for the rest of his life. Chose precision over power to beat Perin from close range. Proved to be a menacing presence on the left flank for the Bianconeri.

Lautaro Martinez – 6.5

A positive outing from the World Cup winner who put himself at his teammates’ disposal and even played a part in Dimarco’s goal. But his finishing touch let him down on several occasions.

Edin Dzeko – 6

The Bosnian striker put the ball in the back of the net with a clinical touch, but his goal was disallowed for an offside call. It wasn’t a fancy display, but impactful all the same.
