Inter Player Ratings vs Milan: Lautaro Sends the Nerazzurri to the Final

Lautaro Martinez scored a brilliant late goal against Milan to send Inter to the Champions League Final on an aggregate score of 3-0. The Argentine was one of many standout performers for the hosts, as their backline and midfield dominated the Rossoneri as well.

Andre Onana – 8

Onana’s confident presence anchored Inter’s backline. The goalkeeper came off his line well to claim crosses, and he made a brilliant save in the first half to stop Brahim Diaz from point-blank range.

Matteo Darmian – 8

In the first ten minutes of the match, Darmian looked like Inter’s weak link. However, the centre-back stabilized his performance and ultimately rose to the challenge of defending Rafael Leao.

Francesco Acerbi – 9

On the backline, Acerbi played incredibly well. He again shut down Olivier Giroud and Brahim Diaz, but he was fortunate not to receive a red card in the second half after stamping on the foot of Sandro Tonali.

Alessandro Bastoni – 7.5

Once again, Bastoni impressed with his elite distribution and his defensive work. The defender also did well against Diaz, helping Acerbi neutralize the midfielder.

Denzel Dumfries – 7.5

For much of the match, Dumfries was engaged in a fascinating battle with Theo Hernandez. The Dutch defender played intelligently with Darmian and created multiple chances in the final third.

Federico Dimarco – 7

Dimarco’s match plan was clearly to close down the visitors’ right wing. Despite Junior Messias’ managing to create a few decent chances, he otherwise struggled against the wing-back’s consistent defending.

Hakan Calhanoglu – 8

The Turk had one of his best games of the season, sending in accurate passes from his deep-lying midfield position and unlocking Milan’s struggling double pivot.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 8

Late in the first half, the Armenian left with a leg injury. While he was only on the pitch for a brief time, he was a force in the midfield, creating several chances with quality passes and movement.

Nicolo Barella – 7.5

At times, Barella’s movement was not what it needed to be, but he did well connecting the midfield with the strikers and playing between the lines.

Edin Dzeko – 8

Despite not making much of an impact in the final third, Dzeko was one of the most active players on the pitch. He provided an important aerial element inside Inter’s box, and he frequently dropped into the midfield to provide defensive support.

Lautaro Martinez – 8.5

After an inconsistent and frustrating 70 minutes, Lautaro struck. He created space for himself in the Milan box and hammered the ball into the near-post, beating Mike Maignan and sending his side to the Champions League Final.
