Inter Ponder Ajax Marksman as Scamacca Alternative

Ivory Coast international Sebastien Haller’s Ajax crashed out of the UEFA Champions League at the hands of Benfica, and the 27-year-old is already being touted to change allegiances at the end of the season.

The Dutch heavyweights reportedly want €35m for their main striker, amid interest from Italian champions Inter. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are eyeing Haller as potential backup for Gianluca Scamacca, in case the young Sassuolo striker ends up moving elsewhere.

The big Ivorian has a contract valid until the summer of 2025, and possesses a transfermarkt value of €30m. However, Ajax expect marginally more to be paid by any interested club. Negotiations have begun between the player’s representatives and Inter, but the transfer fee involved could hamper the deal, according to the reports.

The West Ham United flop has been in stunning form for the Eredivisie giants ever since his move from East London, going on to score 45 goals and assist 16 times in 57 appearances so far.

As one of Europe’s most prolific strikers this season – with 32 goals in 34 games – Haller’s fee could prove to be a bargain for Inter, who are subject to around €40m in transfer price for Neroverdi talent Scamacca, who is still in the baby stages of his career.
