Inter Prepare Plan in Case of Last-Minute Skriniar Move

PSG haven’t significantly raised their offer to sign Milan Skriniar yet, so the odds of him staying put until June are rapidly increasing. However, there’s still time for things to change, and the Nerazzurri would have to scramble for a replacement.

According to La Repubblica, the French side improved their previous proposal a little and tendered €15M, but it stopped short of what the counterparty asked for. La Beneamata wants €20M for an immediate departure, which they would invest in an addition.

While Inter have been linked to a few options, Merih Demiral is the most concrete one should Skriniar leave. They would offer Atalanta a loan with a €20M option to buy. La Dea is open to discussing it. The Turk hasn’t been a full-time starter recently, which also created minor issues in the locker room.

On the other hand, the Bergamaschi just lost José-Luis Palomino for a few weeks due to a thigh injury. They probably wouldn’t have time to buy a substitute. Though, they could give more minutes to Berat Djimsiti and Caleb Okoli, who haven’t played much as of late.

Our Take on Inter, Skriniar, and Demiral

Nothing like some deadline-day drama, but the ramifications of the transfer might be too hefty for it to happen in just a few hours. Ripping the band-aid off and avoiding a long drawn-out goodbye does make some sense despite the void it would open up. While flawed, the Atalanta defender is an okay fallback plan with upside and arguably the best player among those rumored so far.
