Inter Pursuit of Gleison Bremer Receives Huge Boost

Inter target Gleison Bremer has reiterated his desire to leave Torino in pursuit of Champions League football amid Chelsea links. The Brazilian centre-back has generated high-profile enquiries following another impressive season in Turin.

In his recent interview with Brazil’s Resenha ESPN, Bremer confirmed his desire to depart Torino.

Everyone knows that I have the desire to play in the Champions League and with the national team,” he said, as relayed by Calciomercato. “I wanted to leave last season, but the coach convinced me to stay, and then take the next step this year.

I think my farewell is a matter of time. I’m evaluating some proposals, but I really think that next season I will no longer be in Turin.

Bremer was named the best Serie A defender last season. His outstanding form at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino have not gone unnoticed. In addition to Inter, Chelsea and several other foreign sides are keen on securing his signature.

Inter looked to be at the head of the queue for quite some time. However, the Nerazzurri could miss out on Bremer’s signing after Chelsea joined the race. Per several reports in England, the Blues have already submitted a tempting bid to lure the 25-year-old away from Italy.

Chelsea’s interference comes as a massive blow to Inter’s hopes of reinforcing their backline. Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar are both subjects of interest from a number of elite foreign clubs. With their future at Giuseppe Meazza up in the air, Inter were hopeful of landing Bremer as a long-term defensive solution.

Unfortunately for the Meazza faithful, a lack of funds could deter Inter from entering a tug-of-war with Chelsea. It would essentially kick the 19th-time Serie A champions out of the running.

Another potential destination for Bremer could be Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs are in the market for a new defender and the Brazilian has emerged as one of their potential targets.
