Inter are regrouping after walking away from the negotiation to sign Romelu Lukaku and now have Folarin Balogun as their primary target for the position. They have gathered intel on a few alternatives, but the Arsenal prodigy is the most convincing one in their officials’ mind, Alfredo Pedullà informs.
The Nerazzurri were reportedly offered Udinese’s Beto. In addition, they got in touch with West Ham to ask for info about Gianluca Scamacca, who might leave West Ham, but only for a strong offer.
Inter recently had a meeting with Alvaro Morata’s agent, but they don’t want to trigger his €21M release clause, and the brass believe Balogun would be a savvier investment. Instead, Simone Inzaghi would prefer a more experienced player.
The Nerazzurri will try to come to an understanding with Arsenal. They are ready to spend the sum they had reserved for Lukaku, around €40M. The Gunners could be willing to let him go, but the suitors will have to match their valuation.

It’s surely better to spend that kind of dough on a starlet than a veteran. They probably had reservations about it in the first place, as the supposed sins of the Belgian weren’t that severe to merit such a stern reaction. It’s doubtful the sum will be enough to convince the London outfit, though.
